Cloud quickstart

In development

ATHELOS Cloud is currently in private development. This page describes the workflow that will be available at launch. To use ATHELOS today, see the Self-hosted installation.

This page describes the sign-up workflow for ATHELOS Cloud. When Cloud launches, this becomes the fastest way to get from zero to running your first engagement.

1. Create your account

Go to app.athelos.com and sign up.

You'll be asked for:

  • Email address — the one you'll use to sign in
  • Password — at least 8 characters
  • Name — what we show in the interface
  • Workspace name — the name of your company or team, used in reports and client-facing artifacts

Click Create account. You'll receive a verification email.

2. Verify your email

Open the verification email and click the link. This confirms your address and activates your workspace.

If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. It comes from noreply@athelos.com.

3. Pick a plan

Choose one of the four plans:

  • Community — free, 1 operator, for personal use
  • Solo — $29/month, 1 operator, for commercial work
  • Studio — $89/month, up to 5 operators, shared engagements
  • Enterprise — custom, unlimited operators, SSO and audit exports

You can start on Community and upgrade at any time. No credit card required for Community.

4. Set up your workspace

Answer a few questions:

  • Your role — pentester, security engineer, consultant, other
  • Team size — just me, 2-5, 6-20, 20+
  • What you do most — pentesting, forensics, IR, mixed

This tailors the interface to how you work. You can change it later.

5. Create your first client

From the sidebar, click Clients, then New client.

Enter the client's name and save. You don't need more than a name to start — you can add contacts and billing details later.

6. Create your first engagement

Go to Engagements and click New engagement.

  • Client — pick the one you just created
  • Name — something clear like "Q1 External Pentest"
  • Type — pentest, forensics, IR, or another supported type
  • Start and end dates

Click Create. You're now inside an engagement.

7. Start working

From here, ATHELOS Cloud works exactly like the self-hosted version:

  • Define scope — in-scope and out-of-scope targets
  • Load a playbook — PTES, OWASP WSTG, and twelve others
  • Log findings as you discover them
  • Capture evidence — screenshots, logs, command output
  • Track time against the engagement
  • Generate a report when the work is done
  • Create a delivery link and send it to your client

8. Invite your team (Studio and above)

If you're on Studio or Enterprise:

  1. Open Settings → Team
  2. Click Invite member
  3. Enter their email address and choose their role (admin, pentester, viewer)
  4. They receive an invitation email

Team members share access to engagements, findings, and evidence within your workspace.

What you don't have to do

  • Install Docker
  • Configure .env files
  • Run migrations
  • Seed a database
  • Set up backups
  • Configure SMTP or webhooks
  • Manage updates

All of that is handled for you.
