ATHELOS
Getting Started

Deployment options

Compare Cloud, Self-hosted, and Dedicated. Pick the one that fits your team.

Deployment options

ATHELOS runs the same way wherever it's deployed — same features, same workflow, same data model. What changes is who runs it, where your data lives, and how you pay.

There are three options.

Cloud

We host ATHELOS for you. You create an account, pick a plan, and start working in a browser. No install, no Docker, no infrastructure. Your workspace is isolated from every other customer's at the database level.

Choose this if: you want zero setup, you're comfortable with a modern SaaS product, and you want monthly pricing.

Get started: see Cloud overview.

Self-hosted

You run ATHELOS on your own machine. A laptop, a VPS, a home server — whatever you have. Full control over the environment, the data, and the uptime. Your client data never leaves your infrastructure.

Choose this if: you need full control, your clients require their data to stay on your network, or you want to work offline.

Get started: see Self-hosted installation.

Dedicated

We deploy ATHELOS on infrastructure provisioned for one customer — either on our private cloud, or shipped as an appliance to your data center. Includes air-gapped option, custom SLA, and dedicated support.

Choose this if: you're an enterprise or government customer with specific compliance, isolation, or support requirements.

Get started: see Dedicated deployment.

How to choose

Ask three questions:

  1. Do you need your client data on your own infrastructure?

    • Yes → Self-hosted or Dedicated.
    • No → Cloud is fine.
  2. Do you need an SLA, dedicated support, or air-gapped deployment?

    • Yes → Dedicated.
    • No → Cloud or Self-hosted.
  3. Do you want to manage infrastructure?

    • Yes → Self-hosted.
    • No → Cloud.

That's it. Most solo operators and small teams use Cloud. Privacy-focused teams and air-gapped environments use Self-hosted. Enterprises and government use Dedicated.

Migrating between channels

You can move between channels later. Cloud → Self-hosted, Self-hosted → Dedicated, or any combination. Your data exports from one and imports into the other. Contact us when you're ready.
